South of Sun by Haris Epaminonda

The Kunsthaus Zuerich is showing the South of Sun by Haris Epaminonda, her first solo exhibition in Switzerland. Epaminonda works with a range of media, but central to her oeuvre is the principle of collage. She often uses found materials, be they illustrations from books, films or sculptures, and assembles them into multi-layered spatial installations.

At the centre of the exhibition ‘South of Sun’ is a new film which was filmed in Cyprus in 2012. It is a collaboration with ‘Point,’ the centre for contemporary art in Nicosia, Modern Art Oxford and the Fondazione Querini Stampalia in Venice. The soundtrack was especially composed by ‘Part Wild Horses Mane on both Sides’ – a duo consisting of the sound artists Kelly Jayne Jones and Pascal Nichols, with whom Haris Epaminonda is working together since 2010.
